Our Guiding Principles
A Note From Our Founder
From The Heart of Iboga Freedom House
We believe that truth is never threatened by humility.
We believe Iboga is one of God’s gifts within creation - a sacred plant entrusted to humanity with wisdom, purpose, and responsibility. We honor the generations of Bwiti elders who have faithfully carried this sacrament and preserved its tradition. We remain grateful for their guidance, committed to learning with humility, and devoted to walking this path with reverence.
We are not trying to replace the wisdom of the elders or claim authority that has not been entrusted to us.
Rather, we are seeking to faithfully answer the call of our highest authority, God.
Sacred Understanding
The Bwiti tradition has imparted invaluable wisdom, language, and sacred understanding, and we honor that gift deeply.
Our Role Is To Be Faithful Stewards
Our role is to be faithful stewards of what has been entrusted to us - to create sacred space where truth can be encountered, freedom can emerge, and love can restore what fear has broken.
Iboga Freedom House is not built on ownership. It is built on stewardship.
Not on power, but on service.
Not on ego, but on surrender.
Not on certainty, but on continual learning.
Not on separation, but on honoring both the ancient wisdom of the Bwiti tradition and the unique calling by Creator.
If our work reflects more love, more truth, more humility, and more freedom, then it has fulfilled its purpose.
May everything we build bring honor to God, respect to our teachers, dignity to every soul we serve, and gratitude to the sacred traditions that have helped shape our path.
Blessings and Bassé .
